Artist bio:
Oana Tudose (b. 1987, Romania) is a visual artist and designer based in Denmark. Her work is grounded
in sustained material engagement with textile traditions shaped by repair, reuse, and scarcity. Drawing from
Eastern European cultural contexts, intergenerational knowledge, and personal memory, she examines
care, vulnerability, and repair as forms of ethical labor developed through endurance, maintenance, and
responsibility.
Working across installation, textile processes, drawing, and spatial interventions, Tudose explores how
fragile knowledge is preserved and transmitted under conditions of instability and loss. In response to
contemporary geopolitical and ecological uncertainty, her practice positions attentiveness, presence, and
maintenance as necessary artistic commitments rather than symbolic gestures.
Her work has been presented internationally in Denmark, Romania, and the Netherlands, including solo
exhibitions at MNTRplusC, Bucharest; Museum of Oradea; and exhibitions in Copenhagen. Her work is
held in the Museum of Oradea collection and in private collections across Europe.
