Artist statement:

My practice unfolds at the intersection of textile tradition, spatial perception, and contemporary artistic inquiry.

Working primarily with wool, I create rugs and wall tapestries that operate beyond their functional origins,

asserting themselves as autonomous objects within architectural space.

I am interested in textiles as carriers of memory, labor, and tactility. Through the interplay of color, texture, and

material density, my works engage the body as much as the eye, inviting a slowed-down mode of perception.

Rather than serving as decorative surfaces, the textiles activate space, they absorb sound, alter atmosphere,

and establish a quiet dialogue with their surroundings.

Rooted in craftsmanship yet oriented toward contemporary expression, my work seeks to question the

boundaries between art and design, utility and contemplation, surface and structure.

 

Artist bio:

With a professional background in design, I spent over fifteen years working in industry before further developing

my artistic practice. I currently work from a studio located on the third floor of a former mill in Fürth, where the

site’s industrial history informs my engagement with material, process, and scale.

My practice focuses on the production of hand-crafted wall tapestries made from high-quality wool.

Each work is developed through a structured yet responsive process in which material properties, chromatic relationships,

and surface structures guide formal decisions.

The resulting works exist between functionality and sculpture, addressing the relationship between object, space, and viewer.

Characterized by meticulous craftsmanship and a refined visual language, my textiles explore how softness, weight,

and texture can shape spatial experience and emotional resonance.
